Holland Park House

This project was for a whole house rebuild over six floors with a new rear extension, underground cinema/gym and new top floor extension.  The design is a merging of the new and the old as the client wanted a modern interior that was combined with parts of the original period features of the house.  The design includes bespoke bronze door ironmongery by JGA.

Externally the rear extension became two simple framed stone boxes with one set on top of the other.  The idea reflects the play of setbacks and steps in the original rear elevation.  The landscape design and sunken courtyard layout to the new basement repeat the frame idea but in the horizontal plane.
